Pousada Manacá

2001: arriving on the island

Pousada Manacá was born in 2001, when the Cheret family arrived on Ilha Grande and fell in love with Praia do Canto — one of the island’s few still-unspoiled beaches, away from the bustle of central Abraão.

What began as a dream of living by the sea became a family guesthouse with a soul of its own.

The manacá-de-cheiro

Our name comes from the manacá-de-cheiro, a native Atlantic Forest plant that has grown in the garden from the very beginning. It blooms in three colours at once — purple, lilac and white — as each flower ages and changes.

Like the flower, the pousada carries different moments within it: the roots of what was built, what is alive today, and what is still to come.

Today

Today, Pousada Manacá has 7 suites with sea or garden views, all cared for with attention to detail.

What hasn’t changed since day one is the homemade breakfast the family prepares every morning — with fresh ingredients and real care, as if you were a guest in our home.

Because that is exactly what you are.
