Pousada Manacá
Our story
Pousada Manacá was born in 2001, when the Cheret family arrived on Ilha Grande and fell in love with Praia do Canto — one of the island's last unspoiled beaches, tucked away from the bustle of Abraão village. What began as a dream of living by the sea became a family-run pousada with a spirit all its own.
The name comes from the manacá-de-cheiro, a native Atlantic Forest plant that has grown in the garden since the beginning. It blooms in three colours at once — violet, lilac, and white — as each flower ages and transforms. Like it, the pousada holds different moments within itself: the roots of what was built, what is alive today, and what is still to come.
Today, Pousada Manacá has 7 suites with sea or garden views, each tended with care and attention to detail. What hasn't changed since day one is the artisanal breakfast prepared by the family every morning — made with fresh ingredients, with love, as if you were a guest in their home. Because that's exactly what you are.
